CEFG Group update at Eurostat’s EPSAS WG meeting, Rome, 13-14 May

CEFG Group representatives are regularly invited to EPSAS Working Group meetings that are convened by Eurostat to report about the latest developments. Against this background, Emanuele Padovani, Ass. CEFG Group presented in a town twinning programme between Turkey and the EU

The CEFG Group was presented to a Turkish delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Directorate for EU Affairs, the Union of Municipalities of Turkey, the Union of Provinces and the Ministry of Environment and Urbanisation, DG for Local Authorities, in the framework of a ten-day internship programme in Barcelona from 6-17 May for town twinning between Turkey and the EU. read more

EPuM video interview about the European CEFG Group

The European Public Mosaic (EPuM), an Open Journal on Public Service, published a special issue regarding “Public Budget Tendencies” in June 2018. The journal includes a video interview with the Chair of the CEFG Group, Mr. Alexander Heichlinger, about the work of the group, its developments and results. New output of the CEFG Group published!

The latest output of the CEFG Group - the CEFG Group City Portraits - has just been published. These portraits provide background information about the environment in which the cities' finances and financial management are embedded. Thus, they complement the financial information of the standardised financial reports. read more

Academic article using CEFG Group findings published

Some CEFG Group findings were used for the academic article "The role of a municipality's financial health in a firm's siting decision" by E. Padovani, David W. Young and Eric Scorsone, which was published in the last edition of the journal Business Horizons. The paper argues that companies should pay more attention to the financial health of the municipality where their activities will take place. Read more here. read more

CEFG Group published in Public Finance magazine

Public Finance UK published an article about the CEFG Group in their special international issue this October. They state that the CEFG Group "is increasingly recognised as a European reference group in sound financial management thanks to its tangible results and problem-solving approach." CEFG Group presented in Washington

On September 28^th 2017, the CEFG Group was presented in the annual gathering of the Government Financial Sustainability Workgroup that took place in Washington DC. The main objective of the transatlantic conference was to facilitate the exchange of knowledge, experiences and lessons learnt between representatives of both Europe and U.S. working on similar financial issues.

City of London and Amsterdam will present the CEFG Group at the CIPFA annual conference 2017
